WAS BRUCE LEE A REAL FIGHTER OR JUST AN ACTOR
This has been the topic of discussion for many years and remains to be today. Let me
first get out of the way, the fact that i actually started martial arts because of Bruce Lee.
Yes, he was my inspiration and idol at the outset, but i view him as something totally
different now. Today he is still the one individual responsible for sparking my
interest in the martial arts, resulting in me taking this journey. He is also my mentor
Bruce Lee made a statement in a famous interview, that martial arts was responsible for
everything that he became as a human being. This is not only true for him, but many others
that have started out on this martial journey, to include myself.
It has now been nearly forty four years, and i am still studying, training and teaching martial arts.
Now to the topic, was he a martial artist or an actor? Well i first begin by saying, look at the work
that he has left behind. During his life, he published books on self defense, he had manuscripts
on his own fighting method (Jeet-Kune-Do) which was later published,He trained everyday of
his life and he was very passionate about perfecting his art by developing his body to its maximum.
This is not to be debated. The so-called Bruce haters seem to hang on the fact that Bruce Lee was an
actor. Well, many of the people claiming that he was not a real fighter, also appeared in many movies
as well.
I have found that most of the people that claim that Bruce Lee was not a real martial artist, did not
approach him with this issue when he was living. They wait several years after the man has died to
start ranting on about his legitimacy or lack thereof. Is this the trait of a coward? Yes it is.
The fact is, Of coarse Bruce Lee was an actor, his father was an actor in Hong Kong. Bruce Lee had
starred in over twenty movies starting as a childhood actor in Hong Kong, before he even came to
the United States. Bruce Lee had a collection of over one thousand books on martial arts from
around the world. He himself studied philosophy and expressed his philosophy both on martial arts-
and life.
He himself has been quoted in dozens of speeches on how he strove to perfect his martial arts, how
he was expressing himself through martial arts, and how one must chisel away the unessential.
How in the world does a man who trains relentlessly in martial arts, who develops a body to such a
point of physical perfection, and have a doctor say that he had the body of a teenager, end up being
called 'Just an Actor'? the answer is simple. Jealousy.
It's funny that this so-called actor has convinced the
World that he is the
King of Martial Arts.
No it's really not funny, because we all know that he is the most celebrated exponent of the arts
of pugilism both in the twentieth and twenty first century. The real issue is that some have never
accepted it. Below please find some images of Bruce Lees personal physique as a result of his
arduous training methods. He trained like this in perfection of martial arts, not Acting..

IN CONCLUSION, JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE DOES NOT ACCEPT SOMETHING-
DOESN'T MAKE IT NOT TRUE. ACTORS TALK ABOUT ACTING AND MARTIAL-
ARTIST TALK ABOUT MARTIAL ARTS. BRUCE LEE WAS BOTH...
